On January 14, 2025, The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI) officially launched a new online filing service for Patents, Utility Models, and Industrial Designs, marking a significant step forward in modernizing Cambodia’s intellectual property system.

The S&O Cambodia team was honored to attend the launch event, which was overseen by Minister HEM Vanndy. The event brought together representatives from various ministries, the private sector, and both domestic and international organizations, including the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Japan Patent Office (JPO).

This new online service simplifies the registration process for Patents, Utility Models, and Industrial Designs, making it more accessible and efficient for users. By digitizing applications, the system supports Cambodia’s broader objective of protecting domestic and international innovations, fostering a stronger presence for Cambodian inventions in global markets.
