On July 24, 2025, S&O China conducted an intellectual property training session jointly organized by Guigang Customs and the Market Supervision Administration, aimed at enhancing enforcement capabilities and strengthening IP protection in the region.
The on-site training was attended by 12 frontline officials from Guigang Customs and 8 officials from the Market Supervision Administration. Prior to the session, S&O learned that new forms of cross-border e-commerce are rapidly developing within Guigang Customs’ jurisdiction, bringing a wider range of products and potential IP infringement risks. To address these challenges, the two agencies have collaborated to organize targeted training for enforcement personnel.
During the session, S&O IP introduced the brand’s products and highlighted its registered trademark with Chinese Customs. The training focused on key authentication points to help officers identify genuine products and distinguish them from counterfeits. Additional practical information was shared, including product manufacturing and transportation methods, as well as examples of past customs seizure cases.
Participants showed strong interest in the authentication techniques, carefully examining and comparing genuine and counterfeit samples provided on-site. They actively engaged in discussions and Q&A, sharing their enforcement experiences.
Following the training, Ms. Yang, Deputy Director of Guigang Customs, expressed her appreciation, noting that the content will be valuable in future enforcement work. She also voiced her intention to maintain close cooperation and information exchange with rights holders to jointly strengthen IP protection efforts.
