Training Program for Cross-Border IP Lawyers Conducted in Beijing, China

On October 9-12, 2024, Beijing hosted the inaugural national training program designed to enhance the expertise of cross-border intellectual property lawyers, organized collaboratively by the Ministry of Justice of China and the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). The opening ceremony was attended by Wang Zhenjiang, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Justice, and Liao Tao, Deputy Commissioner of CNIPA, they delivered remarks highlighting the program's importance.
Wang Zhenjiang emphasized the crucial role of the legal profession in advancing the rule of law and supporting China's modernization efforts. He urged cross-border IP lawyers to implement President Xi Jinping's Thoughts on the Rule of Law to assist businesses in protecting their rights and interests through effective legal practices, ultimately contributing to China's development.
Liao Tao noted the urgent need for skilled cross-border IP lawyers in today's landscape. He encouraged their active involvement in legislative processes, policy recommendations, international rights protection, and commercialization of IP, calling for a leadership approach in these areas.
The training included IP practitioners and university experts, attracting nearly 100 cross-border IP legal community participants.
