On October 24, 2024, S&O IP held an intellectual property rights (IPR) training session with Hai Phong City Customs, welcoming over 30 officials from various divisions. As one of the largest cities in Vietnam, Hai Phong plays a vital role in the country’s import and export activities.
During the training, customs officials discussed and shared their experiences handling IP infringement at the border. They emphasized the importance of collaboration among IP owners, representative firms, and customs officials in effectively addressing these challenges.
The S&O IP Vietnam team gave customs officials essential insights into brand features, effective anti-counterfeiting strategies, and hands-on practice distinguishing between authentic and counterfeit products. This practical exposure to genuine and fake samples greatly improved their ability to identify counterfeits.
The session highlighted the critical role of customs in protecting intellectual property rights and fostering cooperation to combat counterfeiting and infringement effectively.
