S&O CAMBODIA was invited to join the meeting on the Implementation of the Revised Public Service Fee on Patent, Industrial Design, Utility Model, Integrated Circuits and Plant Varieties as well as the Implementation of Registration of New Plant Varieties in Cambodia as directed under Inter-Ministerial Prakas No. 836.

The meeting took place at the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI) on February 14, 2024.

Additionally, Inter-Ministerial Prakas No. 837, dated November 14th, 2023, concerning Fines Under the Jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation, was discussed. Of particular interest was the fine related to the late payment of annuity for Patents, Utility Models, Industrial Designs, and Plant Varieties.

Following the meeting, MISTI intends to implement the Prakas strictly, granting a 6-month grace period starting from the date of the meeting (February 14, 2024) to the applicants to retrieve the applications with the exemption of late payment penalty.

Therefore, we encourage the applicants to pay the annuity to restore validation of the applications.
