MYANMAR IPD NOW ACCEPTING INDUSTRIAL DESIGN APPLICATIONS

On January 31, 2024, the Myanmar Intellectual Property Department announced it is now accepting industrial design applications under Myanmar's new Industrial Design Law. Industrial design applications can now be filed through Myanmar's (1) online filing system, (2) manual filing process, and (3) via email. This important development will enhance the ability of intellectual property owners to protect designs and further their commercial endeavors in Myanmar. Thus, it is very important for right holders to evaluate their intellectual property portfolios to ensure their rights are being protected and to apply for their industrial designs as soon as possible in Myanmar.
