Georgia Strengthens IP Education and Innovation through Partnership with Kutaisi University

Georgia’s Intellectual Property Office (Sakpatenti) has launched a strategic initiative to enhance IP protection and support innovation by partnering with Kutaisi International University. This collaboration aims to strengthen Georgia’s intellectual property framework, increase public awareness, and build a skilled workforce ready to lead in the IP sector.
Under the new memorandum, Sakpatenti will deliver training and educational materials from the European Patent Office, providing Kutaisi University’s students and faculty with tools to better understand and utilize patent information in both academic research and commercial projects.
Sakpatenti also announced plans for an international master’s program “Intellectual Property, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship”, developed in partnership with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), underscoring Georgia’s commitment to aligning with global standards in intellectual property education and practice.
This partnership represents a significant advancement in Georgia’s efforts to build an innovation-driven economy, reinforcing its commitment to robust IP protection and creating new opportunities for aspiring IP professionals in the region.
