The 2024 CNIPA Training Workshop on Trademarks, hosted by the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) at the China Intellectual Property Training Center (CIPTC) in Beijing, brought together experts to share insights on trademark systems. Representatives from Sakpatenti, Georgia’s intellectual property office, Ms. Nona Tvauri and Ms. Teona Papashvili, attended the event and presented Georgia’s advancements and practices in trademark protection.

The workshop focused on key aspects of China’s trademark system, including its legal framework, registration procedures, and grounds for invalidating trademarks, particularly non-traditional marks.

This initiative highlights the growing partnership between Georgia and China in intellectual property protection. Their cooperation has been solidified by the Letter of Intent for Cooperation in Geographical Indications Protection, signed in September 2024. This agreement fosters knowledge sharing on geographical indication systems and strengthens regional economic ties, contributing to the economic growth of both nations.
