Starting January 1, 2025, Uzbekistan has significantly lowered intellectual property registration fees as part of its broader reforms to support economic development and simplify business procedures. The cost of registering patents, trademarks, and other IP rights has been reduced by an average of 75%, bringing the country in line with international standards, including those of the World Trade Organization.

These changes are expected to create a more favorable environment for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, by removing financial barriers and streamlining the registration process. By making IP protection more accessible, Uzbekistan aims to stimulate innovation and encourage the development of new products and technologies.

The country’s strengthened commitment to intellectual property rights has already led to its removal from the U.S. IP watchlist, a significant milestone that reflects progress in building a more secure and business-friendly environment. This initiative marks a major step toward fostering long-term economic growth, supporting entrepreneurs, and enhancing Uzbekistan’s global competitiveness.
