On April 2, 2024, the Eurasian Patent Office successfully concluded its inaugural fellowship program focused on "Examination of Inventions in the Field of Chemistry and Medicine"— the year-long program to equip professionals with advanced patent search and examination skills. Drawing participants from eight EAPO member states, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, the program recruited examiners with specialized backgrounds in medicine, chemistry, biology, and pharmaceuticals.

The comprehensive program featured academic and practical training, with EAPO Examination Department personnel leading sessions alongside advanced training at the Federal Institute of Industrial Property's Training Center. Additionally, participants engaged in seminars and other relevant training activities throughout the duration. At the program's conclusion, participants received certificates recognizing their successful completion.

This marks a significant step in fostering expertise in patent examination across the region, empowering program scholars to contribute to the field within the EAPO Examination Department or their respective national patent offices.
