On June 12, 2024, at the 11th General Assembly, the All-China Patent Attorneys Association (ACPAA) elected new leaders to strengthen China's intellectual property sector and advance modernization efforts. They also reviewed and approved reports on the previous council's activities, and financial status, and proposed amendments to the association's administrative regulations.
Shen Changyu, Director General of CNIPA, commended the achievements of the ACPAA and emphasized its significant contribution to enhancing the competence of patent attorneys and promoting international intellectual property exchanges. He advised patent attorneys and agents to prioritize quality in their practice. Additionally, he recommended that the Patent Attorneys Association broaden its scope of practice, strengthen collaboration with its members, and maintain close cooperation with IPR supervisory authorities.
Established in 1988, the ACPAA is a national non-profit voluntary organization, approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and CNIPA. The association plays a key role in IP intermediary services and serves as an important force in China's IP ecosystem.
Its core activities include training patent attorneys, protecting the rights of patent attorneys, supporting IP administration in the patent attorney qualification examination, and participating in international IP activities.
