Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently visited Armenia's Intellectual Property Office to review the report detailing the office's activities throughout 2023. Recognizing the important role of intellectual property protection in economic advancement and fostering an attractive investment climate, Prime Minister Pashinyan underscored the significance of enhancing mechanisms for safeguarding intellectual property rights.

An integral aspect of the report was the analysis of applications for registering inventions, industrial designs, and trademarks submitted between 2021 and 2023. Notably, the marked increase in national and international trademark applications facilitated through the Madrid System underscored Armenia's growing significance in the global intellectual property landscape.

Kristine Hambaryan, the Head of the Intellectual Property Office, also highlighted a significant advancement the office had introduced. Since May 2023, the electronic application system has begun accepting submissions with 3D models for inventions and industrial designs. This innovative feature streamlines the application process.

The report further detailed the office's efforts to deepen collaborations with entities such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), and the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO). Active engagement in international conferences, workshops, and seminars underscored Armenia's commitment to staying up-to-date on global IP trends and best practices.
