AmCham China and CNIPA Enhance Cooperation on Intellectual Property Protection

Earlier this month, Lu Pengqi, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), met with Michael Hart, President of AmCham China, and representatives from member companies in Beijing. The discussion focused on advancements in intellectual property protection and opportunities for deeper collaboration.
During the meeting, Lu emphasized China's continued commitment to strengthening IP rights and ensuring equal treatment for domestic and foreign enterprises. He highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to foster a world-class business environment through market-oriented policies, legal governance, and adherence to international standards. Lu also welcomed feedback from foreign businesses to refine China's IP practices further.
Michael Hart commended China’s progress in IP protection and underscored AmCham China’s role as a vital link in fostering dialogue and collaboration between U.S. businesses and Chinese authorities. As part of the meeting, Hart presented the 2024 American Business in China White Paper to CNIPA, reinforcing the shared objective of advancing IP protection and cooperation.
