2025 Destruction Ceremony of Infringing Goods Organized by Thai Customs Department

On February 18th, 2025, S&O IP Thailand participated in a destruction ceremony at the Customs Department, where counterfeit products, for which the legal process had been completed, were destroyed. A total of 602,600 items were destroyed, mainly branded products such as handbags, clothing, and e-cigarettes, with an estimated economic value of over THB 46 million (approx. EUR 1,297,700).
The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Theeraj Athanavanich, Director General of the Thai Customs Department, and attended by representatives from various Thai enforcement authorities, including the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and the Department of Intellectual Property (DIP). The event also featured a demonstration of the destruction process, with counterfeit goods being crushed using an industrial crusher at the Nong Khaem Waste Disposal Centre.
