Thailand’s Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) and the Royal Thai Police have formalized enhanced cooperation to combat intellectual property infringement nationwide. The renewed collaboration is aimed at disrupting production, distribution, and sale of counterfeit goods, both online and in physical markets, with particular attention to locations identified as high-risk under international scrutiny.

In recent months, enforcement activities under this initiative have yielded considerable results. As of late 2025, authorities report the seizure of more than 1.7 million counterfeit items and the opening of 706 legal cases related to IP violations.

To improve long-term effectiveness, the agencies are integrating investigative efforts, strengthening capacity through regular training for officers, and coordinating data across case records, trademark registries, and enforcement actions.

DIP leadership emphasises that this joint action not only protects rights-holders but also helps restore market confidence and supports foreign and local investment by aligning Thailand’s IP enforcement with international standards.
