On March 14, 2025, during the 7th Singapore-Thailand Enhanced Economic Relationship (STEER) Ministerial Meeting, Thailand and Singapore solidified their commitment to deepening economic ties by signing five new memorandum of understanding (MOUs). The meeting, co-chaired by Thailand’s Minister of Commerce, Pichai Naripthaphan, and Singapore’s Second Minister for Trade and Industry, Tan See Leng, focused on expanding bilateral trade and investment, with particular emphasis on enhancing intellectual property cooperation.

The newly signed MOUs address several key areas, including digital commerce, consumer protection, financial technology, and IP cooperation. These agreements aim to improve cross-border trade regulations, foster investment in financial markets, and expand e-commerce opportunities for Thai businesses. The focus on IP cooperation will significantly enhance innovation frameworks and IP protection in both countries, ensuring a more robust and mutually beneficial intellectual property landscape.

These agreements represent a significant step forward in the economic relationship between Thailand and Singapore, with IP cooperation at the forefront of fostering growth, innovation, and mutual benefit.
