S&O IP Vietnam continues its commitment to protecting clients’ brands in critical border regions, most recently by organizing an intellectual property training session in Son La province, a key transit area along the Laos–Vietnam border.

Although Son La was not affected by the nationwide provincial restructuring that began in early 2025, its Market Surveillance sub-department now operates under the Department of Trade and Industry, which reports directly to the People’s Committee. This replaces the former vertical structure under the Directorate of Market Surveillance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

In support of the Prime Minister’s Directive on combating smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeiting, and IP infringement, S&O IP Vietnam partnered with the Son La Department of Trade and Industry and its Market Surveillance team to conduct an official training session aimed at strengthening local enforcement capabilities.

The training focused on enhancing practical skills for identifying counterfeit goods, managing trade fraud, and enforcing intellectual property rights.

In addition to lectures, the program provided an open forum for discussion between S&O IP experts and enforcement officers. These exchanges addressed emerging challenges, especially in the digital sphere, and provided practical tools for frontline protection of intellectual property.

Participants responded enthusiastically, noting the relevance of the content and expressing strong interest in continued cooperation with S&O IP Vietnam. The training reaffirmed a shared determination to enhance enforcement efforts and strengthen IP protection in Son La province.
