S&O China recently conducted two intellectual property training sessions with frontline customs officials in Wuzhou and Zhengzhou, aimed at strengthening enforcement against counterfeit goods and enhancing brand recognition capabilities.
In Wuzhou, approximately 20 customs officials participated in the on-site session. Prior to the training, S&O engaged in a productive exchange with senior representatives from Wuzhou Customs, including Deputy Chief Liang and departmental chiefs from the Legal and Business divisions. Officials noted that Wuzhou has seen rapid growth in cross-border e-commerce, leading to a wider range of product categories and a rising number of IP infringement cases.
In Zhengzhou, the training was attended by 25 officers from Zhengzhou Customs and its affiliated branches. In both sessions, S&O provided an overview of the brand’s history, trademarks, and core product lines, followed by a detailed explanation of key authentication features and common patterns in past seizures. Participants examined genuine and counterfeit samples on-site, which helped deepen their understanding of product differences.
Officials at both locations actively engaged in Q&A and expressed strong interest in the materials shared. They highlighted that direct exposure to branded products significantly enhances their ability to detect counterfeits during inspections.
Following the sessions, customs representatives from both Wuzhou and Zhengzhou affirmed their commitment to supporting IP enforcement and welcomed continued cooperation with brand owners moving forward.
