The 16th Meeting of the Heads of Intellectual Property Offices of China and ASEAN Member States was recently held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, underscoring the growing importance of regional collaboration in intellectual property protection and administration. The event brought together senior officials from the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) and ASEAN IP offices to review progress and explore new areas of cooperation in the region.
Discussions focused on aligning IP practices across member jurisdictions, improving cooperation in patent examination, trademark registration, and enforcement, and enhancing the efficiency of information sharing. The meeting also highlighted the role of digital transformation in IP management, emphasizing the adoption of modern technologies to strengthen IP systems and support innovation-driven growth throughout the region.
