On April 18, 2025, S&O IP Vietnam hosted a training session at the headquarters of the Market Surveillance Sub-department in Bac Kan Province. The session was attended by officials from the provincial market surveillance agencies and marked one of the first training sessions conducted by S&O IP Vietnam following the recent governmental restructuring.
Bac Kan Province, located near major border crossings such as the Huu Nghi International Border Gate and the Tan Thanh Border Gate in Lang Son, is a key trade hub between Vietnam and China. While this geographic advantage boosts trade, it also increases the risk of counterfeit goods and intellectual property (IP) infringements. Effective enforcement in this region is crucial but often faces challenges due to limited attention from IP rights holders and regulatory agencies.
Recognizing these challenges, S&O IP Vietnam aimed to provide local officials with practical knowledge on identifying and addressing counterfeit goods and IP violations. The training focused on current counterfeiting trends and offered useful information on how to spot and handle potential infringements.
The officials expressed their appreciation for the support provided by S&O IP Vietnam and its clients, and they emphasized their commitment to enhancing IP enforcement in the region.
S&O IP Vietnam continues to work closely with local authorities to strengthen intellectual property protection and support effective enforcement throughout Vietnam.
