On March 12, 2025, S&O IP Uzbekistan conducted a training session in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, attended by 15 officers from the Department of Justice of Tashkent. Additionally, 7 officers participated remotely from various agencies, including the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Alcohol and Tobacco Agency of Uzbekistan.

Tashkent, the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan, serves as a central hub in Central Asia. It is a key transportation and trade link connecting Europe and Asia. With China’s ONE BELT ONE ROAD initiative, Uzbekistan is becoming an increasingly important transit point for counterfeit goods flowing from China to Europe. The city’s strategic location, bordered by Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan, further enhances its significance in global trade routes.

The training session focused on the legal frameworks, practical techniques for identifying counterfeit goods, and challenges faced by the region.

The S&O IP team collaborates closely with enforcement authorities, actively supporting efforts to combat counterfeiting at the borders.
