S&O IP Kazakhstan Attends Astana International Forum on IP and AI

On May 29, 2025, S&O IP Kazakhstan participated in the Astana International Forum (AIF), joining global experts and policymakers for a plenary session on "Intellectual Property in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Creative Industries: Challenges and Opportunities".

The event brought together key international and national leaders in the IP field, including the Minister of Justice of Kazakhstan, the Director-General of WIPO, the heads of EAPO and Rospatent, and representatives from China, Malaysia, France, and other countries.

Discussions focused on the legal and practical aspects of protecting intellectual property created using artificial intelligence. Delegates addressed the challenges national IP offices face amid rapid technological change and emphasized the need to adapt the global IP system to the realities of the digital age. WIPO Director General Daren Tang highlighted AI’s potential to unlock human creativity while stressing the importance of ethical and legal safeguards.

The session served as a valuable platform for international dialogue and knowledge exchange, reaffirming Kazakhstan’s growing role in global IP discussions.
