Singapore rose to 4th place in the Global Innovation Index (GII) rankings, its highest in over a decade, while maintaining its top position in Southeast and East Asia. The GII, published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), tracks innovation across 133 economies using 78 indicators.

Singapore ranked first in 14 indicators, including government effectiveness, ICT (information and communications technology) access, and venture capital. The ranking is based on two areas: innovation inputs (enablers of innovation) and outputs (innovation results). Singapore remained at the top in innovation inputs, with improvements in education and innovation linkages.

Rena Lee, Chief Executive of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), highlighted the role of the Singapore IP Strategy 2030 in driving innovation and economic growth, emphasizing IP financing and commercialization.
