The Intellectual Property Agency in Azerbaijan has recently announced that is eager to take new steps in the field of intellectual property to match the new challenges of the modern age. An example of such steps is the new platform “Open Registries”.
“Open Registries” is a new database that collects information on patents granted to inventions, utility models and industrial samples. The principal aim of this initiative is to create a more convenient information base for those looking to obtain patents. The database will make information on patents more widely available for the consumer masses both without obstacles and free of charge.
This service will also allow users to search for information about registered inventions, utility models and industrial samples, and to find information about patent authors and owners.
The information in the registers will be provided in both Russian and Azerbaijani and, whilst it is currently still in development, will soon be available to the public.
