IPOPHL HELD THE 1ST PHILIPPINE TRADEMARK CONFERENCE

On July 24-26, 2024, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) hosted the inaugural Philippine Trademark Conference (TMCon Philippines) at the SMX Convention Center in Taguig City. The conference aimed to bring together key stakeholders to explore the trademark ecosystem and to encourage SMEs to make the most of their trademark rights.

The event covered a broad range of topics, including the latest developments, industry best practices, and updates on trademark laws in the country. IPOPHL also introduced the revised Madrid Regulations and the new electronic filing method for Madrid applications.

Discussions were led by trademark experts and focused on registration, protection, enforcement, and commercialization. Attendees included representatives from the ASEAN Intellectual Property Association, the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and leading trademark practitioners from the Philippines.
