On April 10, 2024, QAZPATENT (Kazakh National Institute of Intellectual Property) shared details about an expedited examination procedure for trademarks, service marks, and geographical indications, announced through an order by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan on February 8, 2024.

This new regulation allows applicants to shorten the examination procedure for trademark applications from seven months to three. The official fee for the expedited examination is 770,000 KZT (approximately EUR 1600).

The business community and patent attorneys initiated the introduction of this amendment in Kazakhstan. These changes signify a significant step towards improving the efficiency of trademark registration processes in Kazakhstan.
