Cambodia and Singapore have extended the agreement to protect intellectual property (IP) in the industrial sector for another five years. Originally signed in 2015, the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Singapore’s Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and Cambodia’s Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MISTI) aims to strengthen economic ties and support Cambodia’s innovation ecosystem through robust IP protection.

MISTI Minister Hem Vanndy emphasized the progress made in patent registration, industrial design protection, and knowledge-sharing between the two nations. The renewed MOU focuses on improving IP governance, training Cambodian authorities, and continuing the re-registration of Singaporean patents in Cambodia. It also facilitates access to financial and technical resources to enhance Cambodia’s industrial IP framework.

Signed in an online ceremony, the extension marks a decade of collaboration, reaffirming both countries' commitment to innovation and a strong IP protection system.
