A delegation led by Muzraf Ikramov, Deputy Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan, recently met in London with representatives from the UK Intellectual Property Office and the IP Federation to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of intellectual property rights.
During the talks, the UK side commended Uzbekistan for aligning its legislation with the Agreement on Trade‑Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) and discussed joint initiatives focused on the enforcement and commercialization of IP. These initiatives include targeted seminars on assessing damages from IP infringements and training for judicial and law enforcement specialists.
Furthermore, the parties agreed to deliver training programs designed to enhance the capacity of customs, judicial, and administrative authorities in Uzbekistan, covering practical areas such as the seizure of counterfeit goods and cooperation in cross-border IP enforcement.
This collaboration marks a significant step in Uzbekistan’s evolving IP policy framework and provides international rights-holders with fresh pathways for enforcement and protection in Eurasia.
