On July 7, 2025, S&O IP Vietnam was honored to take part in the National Conference on Anti-Counterfeiting, Intellectual Property Infringement, and Trade Fraud in the New Context, held at the National Assembly Guest House in Da Nang City.

The event was organized by National Steering Committee 389—an inter-ministerial body chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, which brings together senior officials from key enforcement agencies, including Customs, Market Surveillance, Police, Border Forces, the Tax Department, the E-Commerce Department, and central inspectorates. The conference aimed to assess the effectiveness of cooperation among government authorities and stakeholders in tackling the growing complexity of counterfeit goods and IP violations.

Discussions at the conference underscored the alarming rise in counterfeiting and intellectual property infringement across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, fashion, and electronics, especially on e-commerce platforms. In the first half of 2025 alone, more than 3,200 IP-related cases were addressed, marking an increase of nearly 9% compared to the same period in 2024.

Authorities outlined strategic goals for the coming period, with a strong emphasis on strengthening coordination between enforcement bodies, particularly Customs, Police, Market Surveillance, and specialized inspectorates. This collaborative, multi-agency approach aims to better protect consumers and support legitimate businesses in Vietnam’s dynamic trade environment.

As a leading firm, S&O IP Vietnam is committed to supporting IP rights holders in navigating enforcement challenges and building effective cooperation with Vietnamese authorities. Participating in this event offered valuable insight into current enforcement priorities and the government’s strong stance against counterfeiting and unfair trade practices.
