During a two-day seminar held on August 25-26, 2025, at Shymkent Airport, ten employees of the Shymkent State Revenue Department (SRD) received practical training on identifying counterfeit products. The seminar, titled “Practical Experience in Identifying and Detecting Counterfeit Products,” was organized with the support of Kazakhstan’s SRD Training Center and S&O IP.

The session was led by our colleague, Nurkeldi TEMIRKHAN, Senior IP Lawyer, who shared his expertise in brand protection and anti-counterfeiting enforcement.

During the training, SRD officers working at the international terminal of Shymkent Airport gained valuable hands-on skills. The seminar concluded with all participants successfully passing the assessment tests, demonstrating a strong understanding of the material.

Officers from the SRD stressed the importance of close cooperation and confirmed their readiness to contact brand representatives whenever difficulties arise in determining product authenticity.

“Raising awareness among customs officers is one of the key tools in combating the illegal trade in counterfeit products. We highly value the initiative of the Shymkent State Revenue Department and look forward to further cooperation,” noted Nurkeldi Temirkhan.
