On August 1, 2025, S&O IP Cambodia participated in the IP Commercialization Seminar held at the Ministry of Commerce headquarters. The event was organized by the Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Association of Cambodia (IPAC) and brought together senior officials, legal professionals, business representatives, and members of IPAC, alongside delegates from the China–ASEAN Legal Research Center, the Federation of Associations for Small and Medium Enterprises of Cambodia (FASMEC), and the Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia (YEAC).

The keynote address reaffirmed the Ministry of Commerce’s commitment, in its role as Chair of the National Committee for Intellectual Property Management, to raising public awareness, building enforcement capacity, and strengthening cooperation with relevant ministries, institutions, and IPAC. The session also highlighted Strategic Objective 6 of the National Intellectual Property Policy 2023–2028, which focuses on IP commercialization — enhancing the valuation and marketability of IP assets and expanding opportunities for their effective use in Cambodia.

Speakers expressed strong interest in further cooperation between Cambodia and China under the Belt and Road Initiative, including joint initiatives between academic institutions such as the China–ASEAN Legal Research Center and the Ministry of Commerce. Potential areas of collaboration include legal research on IP, human resource development, and international exchanges.

The program concluded with recognition of the close partnership between the Department of Intellectual Property and IPAC. Both play a significant role in promoting public awareness, fostering innovation and creativity, registering and protecting IP rights, and supporting enterprises in integrating IP into their business strategies — ultimately contributing to the commercialization of IP assets and generating tangible economic value for rights holders.
