On August 1, 2025, Uzbekistan will implement a 10% increase in its Basic Calculation Value (BCV) — from 375,000 to 412,000 UZS (approx. EUR 25 - EUR 28). This benchmark is used to determine the amount payable for various state services, including intellectual property fees.

The BCV is a standardized financial metric that underpins the calculation of administrative charges across multiple sectors. In the IP domain, it directly affects the cost of patent and trademark filings, renewals, and related services.

For businesses, legal advisors, and innovators operating in Uzbekistan, this change underscores the importance of timely filings. Submitting applications before the adjustment takes effect could result in cost savings, particularly for portfolios involving multiple registrations or ongoing protection strategies.

This update reflects the country’s evolving economic policy and modernization efforts, and further signals the need for strategic planning in IP asset management.
