A recent program in Moldova examined both the opportunities and legal challenges of artificial intelligence in creating, distributing, and managing protected works. Discussions focused on ownership of AI-generated content, enforcement gaps in the digital environment, and the need to modernize national and international copyright rules to reflect technological change.

Representing AGEPI, Liliana Vieru, Head of Communication, International Relations and European Integration, highlighted Law No. 230/2022 on Copyright and Related Rights as a key step in aligning Moldova’s legal framework with EU standards. She also stressed the importance of addressing AI-specific issues, including determining liability for unauthorized use of protected content.

The session brought together IP specialists, librarians, and cultural stakeholders, reaffirming AGEPI’s commitment to public awareness, legislative modernization, and the adoption of international best practices in copyright protection.
