S&O IP Joint Training on Counterfeits Identification For Khanh Hoa Market Surveillance Department

On 13th July 2022, in agreement with respective brand owners, S&O IP Vietnam, in cooperation with Khanh Hoa’s Market Surveillance Department (MSD), delivered a Counterfeit Identification Training session to key members of the MSD in Khanh Hoa Province. The training welcomed brand owners from various industries, including sportswear, footwear, consumer goods, cosmetics, and luxury fashion goods.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Quy, Deputy Head of Khanh Hoa’s MSD, then gave a thank you to brand owners, and continued with a summary of the MSD’s achievements in combating counterfeit goods in local markets. He also commented on the importance of having authentication training for government officials. Samples of genuine and counterfeit products were presented for officials’ direct assessment, and importantly, S&O IP Vietnam, on behalf of the brand owners, shared their authentication guidelines with MSD participants.
As the meeting progressed, the registered trademark list of the brand owners in Vietnam was covered, along with a review of identification features. MSD officials took notes of these ID features to assist with verifying suspected products going forward.
Productive knowledge-sharing and Q&A interaction between presenters and participants took place, and the session ended with MSD officials commenting on the usefulness of the training, particularly on the practical value of having product samples available. Brand owners also emphasized their support for MSD’s anti-counterfeiting efforts and their anticipation of continuing cooperation.
