On June 20, 2024, the Islamic Organisation for Food Security (IOFS) and QazPatent concluded a cooperation partnership as an important step towards strengthening agricultural innovation and food security across member states. The partnership aims to promote Kazakhstan's patents in agricultural technologies and IT inventions relevant to food security through mutual cooperation and strategic promotional activities.

This fruitful cooperation began with a courtesy visit by Ambassador Berik Aryn, Director General of IOFS, to QazPatent, the National Institute of Intellectual Property under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Mr. Yerbol Ospanov, Director of QazPatent, warmly welcomed the Ambassador and showed him around QazPatent's facilities.

In the meeting, Director General Ospanov congratulated Ambassador Aryn on his appointment and expressed optimism about the future cooperation between IOFS and QazPatent. The Director General assured that IOFS would support and promote patents on agriculture and food security in Kazakhstan among member states. This cooperation will include the organisation of workshops, events, and partnership activities aimed at showcasing advances in Kazakhstan's agricultural technologies and IT solutions for food security.

In the future, IOFS and QazPatent will work closely together to implement joint initiatives to promote knowledge sharing, capacity building, and technology transfer in the agricultural sector.
