The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) of Cambodia and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) are advancing plans to establish a National Trademark and Brand Management Centre to support Cambodia’s digital transformation and economic resilience. During a meeting, KOICA’s Country Director, Choi Moon Jung, and Ouk Prachea, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce, discussed the upcoming project "Trademarking Cambodia’s Future: Unlocking the Nation’s Brand Potential through Cutting-Edge Digital Solutions".

From November 18 to 22, a team of experts will conduct a feasibility survey to create a detailed implementation plan, marking an essential step toward enhancing Cambodia’s digital ecosystem. This initiative aligns with KOICA’s commitment to advancing digital governance and strengthening collaboration with Cambodian authorities for effective project outcomes.

The proposed centre will integrate artificial intelligence to enhance Cambodia’s intellectual property (IP) infrastructure, focusing on trademark management, data integration, and the protection of Cambodian geographical indications. By promoting IP rights, the centre will also bolster the branding of Cambodian products, enhancing their competitiveness in both local and international markets.
